Busy Weekend!

Wow! What a great weekend but really busy! Clayton and the boys were gone to Corpus Christi this weekend so I thought I might get to enjoy some girl time. I did get to squeeze a few of those moments in but it has been none stop busy-ness this weekend.

First, I dropped Clayton and the boys off at the airport on Friday afternoon. I then headed out for a little shopping and then to my special treat of a pedicure. I hadn't ever had a pedicure until before my wedding. I think I love the massage chairs more than the pedicure but it is great. And I love the pretty toes when I am done.

After the pedicure, Nancy and Diana came over and we went to see a movie and out to dinner. It was great to see them! I don't get to spend near as much time with them anymore and it is way too long between visits. We watched another movie once we got back to the house so we had a nice long visit.

For those of you that don't know---I am going to be a grandma soon! My first grandchild should make her appearance around July 8th. We are anxiously waiting for her and the first baby shower was on Saturday. It was a great time! Here are some pictures.

The baby's quilt. Her name is Bethany Mariah Rogers. The quilt is embroidered with her intials and the bible verses that the name came from. It is so pretty! Mandy also got a gift for Keegan. Black & Red football to match her room---with Daddy's girl on it. I am sure her daddy will teach her to be rough & tough.
all the lout!

Mandy loved the great froggy bathrobe and the diaper cake is the best!
Great time of celebration as we await our little miracle!

Mother's Day!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. The best part of course was waking up next to my wonderful husband. He makes every day special. He bought me the great flowers-purple of course!
I also received the first 3 seasons of ER. I wasn't watching the show back then so I can't wait to sit and watch them all.

Keena also brightened my morning by sending me a text message wishing me happy Mother's day.
We had a great service at church and Charles presented me with this special card that he made in class. The flower is actually a pen. It is great.

After church we headed over to Clayton's mother's house for a family cookout. It turned out to be a beautiful day. I was surprised with another card from Charles. It is so precious with all the things that he likes about me written inside. It says "You Rock, MOM! I love it!
I then had another surprise---the kids all got me a diamond necklace! It really signifies the journey that we have all been on the last couple of years. It brought tears to my eyes!
Keegan rounded out the day by wishing me Happy Mother's Day when he got back home from a backpacking trip to Arkansas. I have a great bunch of kids! I love them all dearly!

Update!

Well, it is official. I am the worst blogger ever! I have really good intentions but my follow through seems to be lacking. Anyway, I am here with an update on things that were missed.

Melissa
Well, Melissa moved to her grandmother's house. She is there helping with household chores that are too difficult for Grandma and Grandpa to do these days. Melissa is also working at Sutherlands, so she is a very busy girl. Melissa also had a mishap with her car a couple of weeks ago. She totaled her car but thankfully no one was hurt. Clayton and I spent the last couple of weeks looking for cars for both girls. Amanda's car just has lots of miles and we don't think it is worth putting more money into it. We finally found two cars--the same night! Both cars ended up being a 1999 Dodge Stratus. One of them (Amanda's) is white and the other (Melissa's) is silver. Hopefully, there won't be any more car shopping in our future for a while!

Amanda
Amanda is home for the summer. She is helping with picking Charles up from school right now but she is also going to go to summer school at TCCC to pick up some of her basics. She will head back to Tarleton in the fall. She is planning to finish school in 3 years! We will see how that all works out. I think it will be great if she can get it done--but it is a lot of work.

Keena
Keena is still working at Saltgrass and going to school at TWU. She hopes to graduate next May. She will be moving to an apartment in Denton in July---not that we ever see her now!

Barry & Charles
Barry and Charles are both ready for school to be out for the summer. They did enjoy the week off for the Swine flu scare recently. Both boys are gone to Corpus Christi this weekend for a Scout trip. They got to go on their first airplane ride. They also got to tour the USS Lexington http://www.usslexington.com/ and spend the night on the aircraft carrier. They were also able to spend some time on the beach. I will post pictures once they get home.
